From many years ago. The opening boat, with Thor L. and a few others with their backs to me. The only one I can really identify is Mike G. next to the loaders front wheel.

Bits and pieces of the Algoma still show up on Mott. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SS_Algoma

Since the Ranger III is not  equipped nor allowed to haul bulk gasoline and avgas to the island, the Greenstone II gas barge is used. It is towed back and forth, usually once or twice a season. It spends most of the time hidden in a cove on Mott.

Way back when. Not a fall pic, but a spring pic.  Caught a ride to Mott with a USCG helicopter, as the ice in the channel was still too thick.

Late fall on the Mott loop and the skunk cabbage is ready for winter.
Image
On the tower one late fall and the sunset really did turn the ridge pink.

From a tree across the street, right now I am listening to a bunch (I know a murder) of crows loudly discussing something important. So you get a gull on the rock.

Middle of October and the Fall lawn fertilizing crew has arrived on Mott.

A middle of October raspberry on the Mott loop.

On the way to the tower on a rainy day in the late fall. When the trails are like this, you get to be a little kid again by waking through the puddles not alongside.  (walking around a puddle widens and ruins the trails)

In the Windigo Visitors Center there is the original lens from the Rock of Ages lighthouse and here it is.   The picture is from the inside of the mount looking up into the lens. The lens is roughly 7 foot tall and weighs about ton and a half.  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rock_of_Ages_Light.

Middle of September a few years ago and the geese were going over the greenstone ridge. Pretty soon here 😒
Image
Camp run yesterday, so a Brule picture it is.
Image
Pileated woodpecker staring at the lake. A common occurrence for islanders, not so much for woodpeckers.
Image
Middle of September, and the "it's almost time to start the work day" sun is shining on the main island.
Image
A early September pic from the tower.  (I just seem to be on a fall picture kick.) (at least they are not winter pics )
Image
Another from way back when, just taking the boots off for a few minutes feels so good.
Image
Conglomerate Bay,  with the seiche going in and out there is a 100% chance that Valena's and Jules kayaks.will be floating in a few minutes.

Lookin towards Mott in late August 07,  the start of the fall colors.
Image
Merlin in a birch, on the greenstone ridge,  west of the tower.
Image
One of the Forest Service Beavers leaving Mott. Those radial engines sound so good.

Early one morning, way back when. Look what was making noise outside my bedroom window.

A damp and hazy day at the waterplant.

Duncan Bay butterfly's.
