When the researchers get permission to trap wolves on the island, the effort that they go through to make sure that the trapped wolf is not hurt is large. This is a picture of a picture of a trap set. The scat on the piece of birch bark is placed there as a lure. (wolves don't like interlopers in their area and can use their scat to mark their territory)
