It's another "long time ago" snowy opening picture. This one is the USCG giving us on the opening crew a helicopter ride to Mott.
Second airplane on the island for 2009's winter study. Donnie and Rolf landed with the Flagship first to make sure there was enough ice for the loaded to the gills Beaver. (Aircraft was full of stuff and John, myself and the pilot, weight was nowhere near capacity.)
